FearlessRiOT Forecast – WWE NXT: TakeOver: London

Time for another NXT TakeOver live special! And it’s an event us American fans are gonna have to watch in the daytime because it takes place all the way on the other side of the world in London, England. I guess we should count our blessings that we don’t have to stay up until 4AM like we did for that Tokyo special. Anyway, the card for this event is drastically different from the card at the last special in that the women are not main eventing this time around and the World Title will actually be defended. Is this the most exciting NXT TakeOver card to date? I would not go that far, but given the consistent awesomeness that these specials always seem to have with them, this should be one exciting show as well. And it’s time once again for me to predict (likely incorrectly) who will come out on top. Ladies and Gentlemen: the FearlessRiOT Forecast for NXT TakeOver: London!

Asuka vs. Emma (with Dana Brooke)

At the previous NXT TakeOver special, rookie Dana Brooke thought she had what it took to take on the wrestling veteran formerly known as Kana. Maybe she went in way over her head because even though she turned in a decent outing, Dana ended the night practically in the fetal position and possibly with temporary amnesia. Long story short, Asuka whooped that ass. And apparently, the devil blondes have not learned their lesson because now it’s Emma‘s turn to challenge the dangerous Joshi.

Who I Want to Win: Asuka…CRUSH!!!

Who Will Win: Asuka; they are going to build that girl up.

Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin

Apollo Crews seems like a friendly guy; you would think that he would have done a better job making friends in the locker room. But I guess not. He won the #1 contendership at the NXT Title in a Battle Royal; the problem with that is that he had to eliminated Baron Corbin in order to do so. The Lone Wolf wasn’t very happy about that, so he ruined Crews’ title opportunity. And now these two Breaking Ground stars meet to settle the score. Will either of them get a title shot out of this? I don’t know, but how smash mouth will this match be?

Who I Want to Win: Team Crews; all day, every day.

Who Will Win: Team Crews; all day, every day.

NXT Tag Team Championship
Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson (c) vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (with Carmella)

I think I’ve made it clear that I think Dash and Dawson are just flat boring. Can they wrestle? Sure. But that doesn’t make them the kind of act you look forward to watching, ya know? They don’t really have a “thing”, per se; at least Blake and Murphy went on the come-up when Alexa Bliss let them sit at her cool table. Dash and Dawson don’t even have that. They also don’t have the charisma of Enzo and Cass, which may or may not be the reason they decided to assault The Realest Guys in the Room to try and end their careers. Last week, Enzo and Cass surprisingly got serious in their promo to Dash and Dawkins, so this could be a more focused team that walks into TakeOver: London.

Who I Want to Win: Ba-Da-Boom; Realest Guys in the Room! How you doin’!

Who Will Win: Enzo and Cass hopefully; they’ve worked too hard for too long to get overlooked for the titles again.

NXT Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax (with Eva Marie)

20151209_NXTLondon_1920x1080
The last two TakeOver specials saw Bayley and Sasha Banks put on Match Of The Year-worthy clinics. Since then, Bayley has defended her Women’s Championship on two more occasions against two girls who are less experienced than Sasha: the admittedly decent Alexa Bliss and the greener-than-Gumby Eva Marie. Shockingly, her match against Eva Marie actually wasn’t terrible due to the stipulations they threw in to hide Eva Marie’s (many) weaknesses. But Eva won’t go away, and instead, she’ll be by the side of the large and dangerous squasher-of-Indy-favorites Nia Jax in this one.

Who I Want to Win: Bayley! Bayley! Bayley!

Who Will Win: Hate to admit it, but it might be Nia Jax. Maybe the reason they had Bayley run so quickly through two other heels en route to Jax is to establish Jax as a dominant, undefeated monster. So yeah, it might happen.

NXT Championship
Finn Bálor (c) vs. Samoa Joe

I was one of those people that assumed Samoa Joe would turn on Finn Bálor in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Obviously, it was gonna happen sooner or later; luckily, WWE decided to wait until after the event that featured the women main eventing and a tournament that honored a deceased legend. After the feel good moments were done, Samoa Joe got back to business, turning heel on Bálor and getting the #1 contendership at the NXT Title. The vicious Joe of old is back and that could spell bad news for Bálor at TakeOver; if he thought Kevin Owens was as tough as a brand-new Laffy Taffy, he ain’t seen nothing yet!

Who I Want to Win: I’m pulling for Finn Balor.

Who Will Win: The Demon will VANQUISH the Samoan Submission Machine!

Do you agree with the forecast? Who do you see winning at TakeOver: London? Who are you rooting for to win? Tag me on Twitter@FearlessRiOT and let me know or leave a comment below. Then check out TakeOver: London on the WWE Network this Wednesday to see which predictions come true. Hope you all enjoy the show.
