FearlessRiOT’s Top 20 Songs of the Week! (Sept. 23rd, 2016)

This is surprisingly the first time in three years that Lauren Alaina has nabbed the #1 spot on the Top 20. After “Like My Mother Does” in 2011, “Georgia Peaches” in 2012, and “Barefoot & Buckwild” in 2013, the former American Idol star has landed her fourth #1 song this year with “Road Less Traveled”. In order to do that, she had to topple six artists repping the Suicide Squad; “Sucker For Pain” falls down to the #2 spot.  Maren Morris collects her second Top 5 hit with “80s Mercedes” as it rises to #3. Ariana Grande falls to #4 with “Into You” and Fifth Harmony‘s “All In My Head (Flex)” rises to #5, making it their fifth Top 5 hit on the countdown. So many fives in that statement. Rounding out the top 10, we have “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” by Adele at #6, “My Church” by Maren Morris at #7, “The Rising Sun (Shinsuke Nakamura)” by CFO$ & Lee England Jr. at #8, “Rotting in Vain”, the third Top 10 by Korn at #9, and “Hold Up” by Beyoncé at #10. The sole countdown debut of the week comes from Green Day, who haven’t been on the Top 20 since “The Last of the American Girls” in 2010.
