FearlessRiOT’s Top 20 Songs of the Week! [Nov. 25th, 2016]

2016 has been a troubling year, so it might be a little difficult conjuring up a list of things to be thankful for over the weekend, but something that I am thankful for is music artists willing to combat hate. This week, not one, but two Top 20 Countdown artists had some choice words for our President-elect, and one of them finds themselves in the #1 spot this week. After a widely talked-about performance on the American Music Awards, Green Day earns their first #1 song on the Top 20 Countdown since 2009’s “Know Your Enemy” with “Bang Bang”. This sends Maren Morris down to #2 this week with “80s Mercedes”. Meanwhile, The Weeknd and Daft Punk are on the rise as “Starboy” heads up to #3. The Pretty Reckless are down one with “Take Me Down” to #4, and Lauren Alaina sits still at #5 with “Road Less Traveled”. Rounding out the Top 10 are “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Moana soundtrack contributor Alessia Cara (#6), “Side to Side” from AMA Artist of the Year Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj (#7), “Heathens” from two-time AMA winners Twenty One Pilots (#8), “Starving” from Hailee Steinfeld & Grey featuring Zedd (#9), and “Why So Lonely” from Wonder Girls, who crack the Top 10 for the first time. This week sees two countdown debuts from Carrie Underwood and Rae Sremmurd featuring Gucci Mane.
