FearlessRiOT Top 20 Music Countdown [May 5, 2017]

Kendrick Lamar is so far THE artist of the year in 2017. He has easily the most talked-about album of the year so far and debates of him being one of the greatest rappers of all-time, if not the undisputed G.O.A.T. continue to intensify. And now there’s another accomplishment for K.Dot this year: snagging the #1 spot on the FearlessRiOT Top 20 Music Countdown for the first time as a main artist. He previously reached the top spot as Taylor Swift‘s tag team partner on “Bad Blood” in July of 2015, but this his first #1 song of his very own. And to nabbed it, he had to knock Zedd & RDMA winner and performer Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” down to #3 and speed past Paramore, leaving “Hard Times” stuck at #2. Sabrina Carpenter re-enters the Top 5 following her RDMA performance of “Thumbs” and though “That’s What I Like” slips this week, it’s only at #5, meaning Bruno Mars remains in the hunt. Rounding out the Top 10 are “Saturnz Barz” from Gorillaz featuring Popcaan (#6), “Shape of You” from Ed Sheeran (7), “Invisible” from Christina Grimmie (#8), “The Fighter” from Keith Urban & Carrie Underwood (#9), and “Flame” from Tinashe (#10). This week features two countdown debuts from Incubus and WWE producers CFO$ featuring Lesley Roy (Remember her?).
